DP Readout Screen - *Feature Request*

[Chris Nuzzaco]

I just finished two Red One shoots recently, and I thought of something that would be really super handy for DPs who are not necessarily Red camera operators.

A DP readout screen. Please oh please make a settings/data screen that is accessed via a dedicated (or assignable but dedicated is far better) button.

Basically, I just want to be able to view all recording settings instantly at the touch of a button, including an accurate histogram thats measuring the cameras linear capture.

That would be awesome.

how about thumbnails for playback?

how about thumbnails for playback?

In addition to that, could we get thumbnails in playback mode? I find the drive sometimes stops responding when i have to shuttle back a few clips. A thumbnail screen would help scripty review previous set-ups quickly and efficiently.

[BigLu]

Thumbnail.

That would be a great help.

Thumbnail and sort of an approval tool. Something like a trashcan but with a twist. Just in case you change your mind.

I see this being something that we might be able to access via the USB port on the camera at some time. Best option would be a USB WiFi dongle into the RED and then an app running on a laptop (maybe iPhone/iPod Touch) where you could monitor the settings (including lens /i data) from the camera in realtime. Endless posibilities.
