Hi All,

First off, I want to thank you for the great response to part one of the series. I got a ton of hits from all of you and the feedback was tremendous. I bust my butt pretty hard to do these pieces and it's really great when I'm able to get constructive feedback. With your help hopefully, I can continue to make each episode better.

I've posted part two of the interview about John's experience shooting with the RED. Some of the things we talk about are; the top notch service he received from PS, the rental house he used in Toronto; the Cooke S4 lenses he used; how RED is changing his workflow, and much more.

Please stop by and check it out. Be sure to drop me a line or leave comments and feedback, and let me know what other RED topics and issues you would like to see covered at HDFilmtools.com

Best regards,
Lawrence Jordan

Thanks Lawrence,

It was nice of You and John to mention PS and our services. We are trying to keep up with the technology, but our service and customer support has to be at 100% at all times. As you said it's all about the teamwork, and John, Colin and whole "Hybrid" camera crew, including ladies at the prod. office:) were great.

Again great concept

Thanks

oh Jack, always about the ladies ;-)

Excellent. Keep doing more of these, please. They are great.

BTW, do you know what resolution the filmout for this movie will be done at? 4K? 3K? 2K?

Thanks Tom. I'll e-mail John and find out.

Thanks Lawrence.

Great stuff.

Should join the RED interviews from the RED page.

I hear this over and over again from DP's red is more like using a film camera , and thats a very comforting thing to hear

Hey Tom, it was all shot 4k, with a 2k DI. All vfx are also being worked on from the 2k DPX, but we have access to the original 4k RAW files if we need the extra resolution.

cheers
Colin

hubickc, thanks. 2K or 3K filmouts really seem the most sensible for Red.

I think the problem is, 3K is such a random number, it will probably be bypassed. Red One will finish at 2K and Epic will finish at 4K. that's my guess anyway.

Colin, you're becoming quite the celebrity with all the shout-outs from John. Are you ready for your close-up? :)

Hey Tom, Colin is my name...but it was taken as a username when I signed up :-)

cheers
Colin
