I've always liked ZZ Top's music, although I don't think I ever bought any of their albums. A couple of days back I somehow got redirected to the ZZ Top page on Wikipedia, and it struck me the whole ZZ Top "Package" sort of resembles the whole "RED One" package.

ZZ Top have a quintessentially American sound, and the Hillbilly beards and Billy Gibbons's 1933 Ford Coupe that appears in some of their music videos all add to the good ol' boy image. Sort of like the RED image.

Well that's what I thought anyway. I don't own a RED but I did download a CD's worth of ZZ Top songs from iTunes. Got to keep the economy moving somehow:shifty:

yep - i have edited a kabillion hours of motorsport to various ZZ tunes.

are they still

a: on this mortal earth (alive)?
b: a band?

a: Very much so
b: Yep. Nearly 40 years on, same band, same 3 members, same beards. They've managed to update their sound over the years while still remaining instantly recognizable, no mean feat.

Read all about it on Wikipedia

ahhh.....the 80's was as good as it gets for me!!

currently on the high rotation "rendering music channel" is some vintage 80's, The Baby Animals (aussie rock band), the eagles and some malcom maclaren (yes - buffalo girls around the outside....) but it a jazz CD i found in Paris about Paris

Dude... I grew up in Alabama. Cannot count the number of drunken high-school nights listening to Skynyrd, ZZ Top, and Hank Jr.

Deguello still one of my all-time favorite albums. : )

They're going to be here in Grand Forks next month.
