Nice Job man...

Great! Did you work out your sync issue? I'd like to know how you go as I'll be shooting shows in Australia this way. First test is next week at the Sydney Opera House.

Keep us informed!

Best of luck! :w00t:

Zadardast!, Insane, I'm also concerned about what type of concert this is. Are you going to place the cameras on the seats like for the concert? Also also, what about the lenses some of them don't have em on!

Hey G...what about your workflow on set?How many Data Manager Stations,
REd Drive?? VEry Good...the real Rebellion:w00t:

This is an Indian Classical Carnatic Music concert that was shot at a fantastic concert hall in Chennai (Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall).

The primary target is cinema screens and the project will be delivered as a 2K JPEG2000 Digital Cinema Package with 5.1 sound.

The performance was captured with 7 Red cameras @4K 2:1 and the audio was recorded live to a multi-track disc recorder @48KHz, 24-bit.

This was a two day shoot. All material was backed up on location using a MacPro connected to an Avid MediaRAID 16TB with two copies of all files. Secondary backup to DLT will happen today.

Post workflow planned is offline on Avid Media Composer in DNxHD, conform and grade on Digital Vision Film Master directly using the R3D files - to be tested! - and output as 2K DPX files that will be encoded to a JPEG2000 DCP using QubeMaster Pro.

Thanks Senthil about the project update.

Regarding TimeCode sync we tried using Jam Sync and External Time Code fed to all cameras for few seconds. The internal clock reset to original time code after every battery change. It doesn't work out for us. We used Clap and Flash to match 7 cameras by feeding Live reference sound to one of the camera.

We faced glitches with couple of the cameras. Red Drive not detected in one camera. In another camera, when we play a clip, camera automatically reboots without any warning and hangs and was forced to remove the power cable to reset the camera. For another camera which we had it on Jimmy Jib, we had a take running for 23 minutes, At the end of the take, camera shuts down due to overheat. Red needs to work on solving heating issues.

That looks great! I'm going into the Sydney Opera House tonight to do my first camera tests. Would love to share info on all the ins and outs of multi cam shooting. I'm used to doing it with a full O/B crew but really looking forward to using RED.

Congratulations!

Jim
