  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

JVC ships 4k x 2k DLA-SH4K 10-megapixel HD projector

Excellent. What is the price?

I saw someone quoting a price tag of 90K$ on another website.

"The RSAL2 provides the highest optical performance anamorphic add-on lens installed in front of digital projectors to convert them to a higher (wider) aspect ratio. The JVC RSAL2 1.33x anamorphic lens allows you to fill the entire height and width of a 2.35:1 format screen with the best optical image available with the award winning JVC D-ILA 16:9 digitally projected images."

its not Leica??

Anyone know the current cost of the Sony's 4K projector
Anyone line it up for RED image 4K viewing

Thanks

'Round back, you'll find four DVI-D (dual-link) terminals, an RS-232C port, USB connections and an Ethernet jack for making adjustments via a web browser.

Does that mean 8bit color only?
So, not optimal for DI work, innit?

JVC will offer two lenses for the projector, the GL-MS4015SZG 1.22x zoom lens for screens up to 300 inches, and the GL-MS4011SG short throw lens for screens up to 250 inches.

7'62m wide maximum?
So, not adecuate for theatres.

Who's this projector for? Filthy Rich Home Cinema Enthusiasts?:umm:

Sony Has several. Their top-of-the-line SRX-220 with all the needed pieces breaks down as:

- Projector: $130K
- Lens: $30K
- Media block (4K DCI RAID server): $40K
- Input cards: $5K (x4)= $20K

Total ~$220K.

Not that this is in a much different class than the JVC above. It's a commercial projection unit that weighs 700 pound and spits out 18K lumens.

If you want something for home or smaller screening rooms, you can get the 5K lumens SRX-105 or 10K lumens SRX-110 for under $100K

So if RED came out with a 4k movie projector for cinemas at an affordable price for the owners, could they change the world a second time do you think?

Don't forget it needs its own air condition.
