  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Fun In Office Red+semi Steadicam+fisheye

Nice!

Is it normal that we see black areas in the four corners of the frame?

Very nice!
I'm intrigued by 2 paintings you have in that office...1 above your desk, and another at 1min 20 sec....who did them, and what are they called?

Can't wait to see more footage!! :)

i have painted them 2 years ago (it is oil paint)
the second one is repeated work for some genius painter modeler ;i just
copy it from web, and repainted it. i love it

bit hard to tell the issues with flying it correctly from that footage as even handheld could look like a steadicam on a 7.5mm

Best setup tips are to check the fall rate really should be only just bottom heavy enough to fall over a second or two if you tilt looking straight up and let it fall to level. other good test of bottom heaviness is to quickly swing the arm left and right (just by holding the arm not gimble) if its not too bottom heavy the arm wont 'pendulum' around too much, should stay pretty straight.

other main tip is to not grip the gimbal too tightly, a light few fingers to guide the pan tilt around leaving the gimble free to ... be a gimble.

thats the two main traps for the beginner, too bottom heavy and grabbing the gimble too tightly..

my two cents anyway

tHANK YOU Jason
That is what i needed to know from posting this demo
very important tips . what i understand that i must put weights to the bottom
As much as camera weight . is that right ?
as bottom heavier as more balance ? is that right ?

kind of. You don't want to add any weight. It's a matter of sliding the centre post up or down so it's only just bottom heavy. It's the difference between holding a broomstick in the middle. And holding it at the top. You want it only just bottom heavy enough to stay level. Too bottom heavy and it swings around everytime you start or stop moving.
