2343 has been home in Culver City for a little over a week and I’m in serious sleep deprivation.

In the spirit of appreciation for all of the RedUsers who have posted work and been such an inspiration to me and all other RedUsers over the past year, here are a couple of short early shots.

http://vimeo.com/1624587

Both were shot 4K 2:1, 2fps, 359 degree shutter (1/2 second exposure) using a Nikon 80-200 at f4.5/ISO 320/Redcode 28 (if memory serves) Build 16. Both shots were then transcoded using R2CF to 4K CFHDAVI, color corrected in Premiere Pro CS3 with Color Finesse and exported as 1280x720 WMV for the vimeo upload. In both cases the music is by the brilliant Australian Aeolian Sound Sculptor Alan Lamb. (I just mixed in the crickets.)

As I suggested, 2343 has kept me up all hours and it feels as if we have just barely scratched the surface.

Unending thanks to the entire Red team.

Quite a camera.

Love the India Sweets & Spices video. Very interesting! Have you add something in post to increase the effect?

Thanks for sharing!

Vincent, Many thanks for the response.

Nothing was added in post except color correction and slowing the footage back down to approximate real time.

Thanks again for your comments.

David congrats , for your cam and awesome your first test
Finally you made it,, good luck and have fun but take care of your treasure.

Many thanks Bassam and Sanjin. You guys are definitely two of the inspirations I was thinking of in my earlier post.

I know, I've been so happy with the quality of the few Nikon lenses I have.

I have a Birger on the way but I think I will certainly buy a little Nikon to Canon adapter in order to be able to easily continue to use these beautiful and beautifully inexpensive lenses.

Thanks Tico, I'll definitely try to keep putting some things up from time to time. Along with the shear knowledge base, the sharing of work is a hugely important part of what makes this forum so valuable.

Great Stuff David,

Looks like lots of fun still happening in my old hood!:)

Cheers
Dave

Thanks Dave,

Did you know of India Sweets and Spices? just a 1/2 block down the street from our Museum. Such a crazy international cross-roads here.

You should come back for a visit. Thanks for the kind words.

Johan, Please do send a PM and I will answer what I can about CineForm. I've used their codecs for a number of years now with great success.

I am definitely interested in the IMS mount but have yet to convince myself that I can afford it.
