  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I need NIKKOR 35mm f/1.4 test please.

The 35mm 1.4 is a beautiful lens.

Wider lenses will give you more depth of field, 35mm and up give a more shallow depth of field when the aperture is opened up.

You'll need to use tons of ND if shooting exterior at a f/2.8 or f/2.

This is a pretty accurate review of it:

It's an alright lens, but it really shows it's age wide open at 1.4, Lots of ghosting and fairly low contrast when wide open. I have one, use it every now and then. It's fun, but by no means top notch.

Thanks :)

what is the best lens of the following nikon manual focus lenses:

Nikkor 20mm f/2.8
or
Nikkor 24mm f/2.8
or
Nikkor 28mm f/2.8
or
Nikkor 35mm f/1.4

and why?

Best Regards :usd:

The uses are different, for all out sharpness the 28mm 2.8 AIS is a ringer.
The 35mm will have the shallowest DOF. The 28mm 1.4 AF is the best but at $3K+ used it's hardly a bargain. The 28mm f2 Nikkor or Zeiss ZF are both very sharp fast alternatives.
