I just bought Crimson and was very happy with how it worked. I did a very short little movie about about 20 cuts using the "M" proxies. Then, did the entire thing roundtripped with Crimson...perfect.

My question is: it took a while to get all the "M" clips into my FCP browser. Rather than bring in all the folders from all your takes, has anyone made a script (Automator?) that can find all the "M" proxies and bring them in only? Any other solution that I'm not thinking of?

Thanks!

Kevin

serch or "_m" in the top directory of your mag, then click the folder name when the found files pop up to make sure your only searching in that directory. Then just drag them into FCP.

I like that Idea
Saves me a ton of time.

Thanks, guys.

Ian, thanks for a great tool in Crimson and this little script. I'll try it later...I look forward to your update of Crimson, too. Just bought it this weekend...first test went very well. GREAT workflow tool...

Ian, if we decide to use RED Rushes rather than proxies for our rough cuts, can we then bring the XML from FCP into Crimson and will it work the same way?

Cool. While the "M" proxies were okay, I do not think I would show them to a client that wasn't used to seeing compressed rough cuts. We'll probably do a quick RED Rushes export and then use Crimson to refine our sequence.

Thanks for a nice workflow tool...great to hear it will (should) work with RED Rushes.
