Hi,

I recently tried the AJA Kona DPXT to QT Translator, because i could not figure how to import DPX image sequence in Color (imported only the first image).

Each time i convert DPX files via this software, i end up with a severe darkening of the image.
The image stay very dark even when i import the clip in Color.Everything is crushed, visually, and on the Wave form monitor.

Is there a way to avoid this gamma shift ?

thanks

Antoine

Antoine -

For starters - you can ONLY convert RGB Quicktimes to DPX with the AJA tool. Non RGB codecs will give results like you described.

So, if you have a codec other than AJA RGB Lin or LOG - you gotta convert first. Meaning, transcode to AJA 10 bit RGB LIN - then convert to DPX -

All of this is in the instructions and documentation that comes with the AJA utility.

Hi Mark,

I'm speaking about the DPX To QT tool.
...not the QT to DPX...

I'll take a look at the instructions.

thanks

hi antoine. in color, there is a setting to override the dpx header settings. check that one and set it to 0-1023.
