Color correction in inherent in the Premier application for whatever format.

What we are discussing is different than just color correction, it's assigning color temperature.

For example, if you shoot outside with the camera accidentally set to 3200K then everything is going to look really blue. You could try and color correct that so that it looked right, but if you could change the color temperature to 5600k, then it would give you a natural starting point to do your color correction.

Anyone know if there is a disadvantage in purchasing the student license of Adobe Creative Suite? I think with student licenses, you can't upgrade to newer versions, ie CS4

If your a student then I'd highly suggest it, I bought the master collection on my last day of college for like 579, best move I've made in awhile. The student version has everything that the normal one does, and you can upgrade (which takes away the academic restrictions of not being able to sell your license).

OK, time for reality check.

Will it take longer to un-lean FCP/Color and learn Premiere/AE or will there be a Apple solution within the next 3 months?

(Red is revolutionary in oh so many ways: Here I am, hardcore Mac fanboy who had Final Cut since 1.25, actually contemplating switching after 10 years of pure Mac to a Adobe/PC setup... Times are a-chaning...)

Why unlearn anything? I see this as much needed competition for the FCP team.
They been without it for much too long. We all know competition keeps things interesting and we as end users will benefit.

My preference is to have BOTH Final Cut Studio and Adobe Production Suite. The overlapping of apps can take care of some of the holes such as Blu Ray support, Flash/mobile support, transcoding and color correction.

Same thing with Mac and PC. It's fine to have an OS perference, but I think these days you can't exclude any OSes for digital media work. I use Win XP and OS X, with an occasional use of Linux. There are too many cool apps that are OS specific that I like to be able to use.

I guess no adobe support today, it's like waiting for santa all night christmas eve falling asleep and I'm sure when I look in the morning it's gonna be up but the anticipation is a Mutha.

aint it!!!

Sorry for it being so quiet today guys, busy Friday here.

Rob and Deanan are in charge of the ADOBE plugin (and all things post), and they will let you know when its ready for prime time... so stay tuned.

heh heh heh.. I just wanted to be clear that i wasnt talking about the SDK.. some people have emailed me confused thinking that the SDK and the ADOBE plugin where the same thing.

When is the plug-in coming out...??? If you need an Alfa/Beta tester, I will go through the tedious process...

Targeting Friday at the moment. We'll have another update on Friday as to where we are with that.

Today is the day!!!! ???? :whistling:  :whistling: :glare:
