Doug Underdahl would like to see if his Nikon mount with G/DX Iris Control could be adapted to fit into the P+S Technik IMS system.
As I see it, there are two ways to accomplish this:
1. Someone could lend Doug an IMS mount. Then Doug could determine if his design could be adapted with the IMS back.
2. Someone could lend Doug an IMS Nikon adapter. Then Doug could see if the modifications he made to the Red Nikon Mount could also be made to the IMS Nikon adapter.
Ultimately, whatever happens will be up to Doug and will be influenced by his relationship with Red. I'm not trying to "speak" on behalf of Doug, Red, or P+S Technik. Doug mentioned in his other thread that he would like to see if it *could* be done. I just thought it would be good to post this as a seperate thread for more exposure.
Within this discussion, it is important to note that the current design of the IMS for Red voids the warranty, but that Red and P+S Technik are trying to get the details ironed out.
The "glass half full" way of looking at the delay is... there's probably enough time to figure if Doug's mount could work with the IMS.
Any takers?
