now before I get slammed with questions, I am going to be working on putting
together a small FAQ in the next few days, (pending commercial work..)
I would like to hear suggestions, requests, ect. since It's not to late to change
things, and I want the community's feedback and ideas to make it as good
as possible and you as happy as possible. in the spirit of red I want to keep
this as open as I can.

p.s I will be attending Siggraph 2008 in L.A. most of this up-coming week, if
anyone is at the show and would like to meet up, I'll bring a few prototypes with me to show.
Just shoot me a pm I'll try to check it at least once or twice a day.

how easily interchangeable is it?

are you planning to get it RED certified?

the iPhone controller is great!

very promising and looks well built...i'd love to know more about pricing but will wait on the FAQ...

This looks really cool. I have no need for one personally right now since I own Nikon lenses but here is one thing I noticed from the video that I thought might be improved;

- On the iPhone and PC application controller it might be a nice touch to match the look and feel of a circular focus knob on a remote focus. You can use your finger to rotate the knob just like an AC would do in a real scenario interacting with a remote focus unit. As you rotate the knob, you can see an electronic display at where you are at in the focus range and be able to adjust the speed in which the motor controls the gearing with a slider from slow to fast. This way the puller could have a tremendous amount of control in any scenario. Hope that makes sense.

For the record, this thing is wicked cool!!!

Nicely done ! It will be fun watching all the smart mounts fight it out....

It would be nice to put some kind of local iris control on the mount

We live in exciting times.

Make that two for Nikon! That iPhone control is fantastic and I would use it immediately. Please say you are planning on a Nikon mount too.

Hey Alesniak. Can you try doing a image stabilising test starting and stopping a pan, say when someone walks into a static frame, pan with them, then stop panning and let them walk out of frame? A vertical tilt test along similar lines with say an object starting brought into the bottom of frame.

I want to see how the IS copes with moving pictures and whether there is the initial and final movement stutter as the IS kicks in and out as it hits it's compensation endstops.

If you have time, maybe try in the reverse directions for completeness, although I'm pretty sure the IS will operate symmetrically.

Thanks in advance!
