When I ordered my Red about a year ago I had two features lined up to shoot.
The first one went away at the beginning of the year and the second producer dropped out a couple of months ago. I don't have another feature or big job lined up right now so I must sell my Red. I've already received my emails and my Red is ready to ship. I hate to do this but I have to put it up for sale.
PM me if you are serious.

Sorry about that, man. I had to do the same thing for basically the same reasons. It was a very depressing decision. :/

I think though that you can only sell the reservation back to RED, unless their policy has changed.

I may be wrong but I thought there was talk of RED wanting back the cameras if you didn't want it. Though it may have been that you couldn't sell your reservation number.

Sorry the projects didn't work out - have you considered renting it? Could pay for itself that way?

Good luck!

what are you asking and whats included?

Sucks - but damn, it's the same broken record over and over.

Too many people "having to sell because my project went away". You shouldn't purchase a camera based on a project.

You can't sell reservation numbers, but you can lease to own - I buy it from you but under a deal stating you're the owner for a year until I "pay it off". Really though, it's paid off before delivery.

Honestly, I feel there's too many people trying to make dough off selling their REDs. Completely fine but jeez.

Fund my projects

Fund my projects

Shawn,

I agree that there are too many people selling their REDs "because their projects went away". Why don't you fund mine and I won't have to sell?
And, people buy (and rent) cameras for specific projects all the time. I've done that myself and know other people who've done it as well.
I didn't put a deposit down on my camera a year ago just to see if I could make some money on it so you have no basis inferring that's what I'm doing.
I've been in this business 20 years and have bought and sold equipment I use to make a living with. It's not my fault the two movies I was supposed to shoot went away. The tool I needed for those jobs, the RED camera, is not needed anymore although I really want it. But that's life.
