  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

more surfing

Stupid question...but how did you protect the camera in this from the water if you wiped out from the waves yourself? Do you some type of housing or was this on a super long lens from the beach?

Looks amazing by the way.

Ever seen photo and camera dudes during surfing competiton "standing" in absolutely insane waves - it looks quite dangerous but with good timing, prediction and great ocean knowledge you are safe. They use helmet, camera and fins, thats all. I allways enjoy their skill during ASP Pro Tour at France.

Thanx Nalu!!
Btw do you have pic of your Red "surfing" setup or pic of you with Red in wave?

And leash that housing to your wrist so if it goes, you go -vise versa
You really do need to be a full-fledged waterman for big wave water photog

I just want to be sure that I have this right. There is no housing on the camera at all? You're in waves over your head with nothing on the camera, not even garbage bags or something?

Don't worry camera is 100% in a housing with a wrist leash - swimming with fins.

Went to shoot yesterday but having the common boot problem - camera just gets hung up on booting. Can't sort it out, have submitted a ticket to Red - more good waves today so I'm hoping it comes good.

Hi Cail!
Build 16 is on - using the LCD for monitoring - it sits at the back of the housing and makes it great for shooting (usually used to trying to look through small viewfinders through a housing).
