  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Angenieux 25-250 HR assembly.

Thanks Matthew. Smaller file much easier.
It's a lot of fun to watch; it's like lens porn! How long does that reassembly take? At least a few hours I would guess...
Cheers,
Harry

A straight forward, clean and lube, usually takes about a day. That's assuming that there are no other problems with the lens. And these Angenieuxs are getting pretty old. This one was at least as old as me. hah.

So... How many pieces did you have left over? I usually find with most projects the average is 3, but with lenses maybe 6 or 7. :-)

Absolutely none. lol. Left over parts in a lens such as this could be devastating.

Mike, this lens is actually owned by Duclos Lenses. Which is why I was allowed to do this project. It was a complete overhaul to prepare it for sale.

The HR on the Red is an awesome combo. I've been using it of and on for jobs the last couple months and have been very happy.

I know it's for sale. I already directed one client to ask after it. Give 'em a call. A beautiful, fully rebuilt lens with accessories.

Sorry to disappoint anyone. This lens is not for sale.
It was for sale, but this video was not intended to be an advertising tool. I'm not a fan of solicitation on community forums unless the forum is intended for such posts.
That said... Keep an eye/ear open for more content soon. (I hope)

I'm glad people enjoyed it.
I'm looking for my next project. I have to be very careful not to cross any privacy issues with customers. That's why I used a lens that Duclos Lenses owned. Any suggestions for the next video?
I was thinking maybe an Angenieux 24-290mm Optimo.

I'd vote for the Optimo, if only because I've seen how it's built and it's just beautiful.

I'll also shoot this one with a slightly smaller file size.
The HR one was done with a NIkon D300 on interval shooting mode. so each frame was a full 12mp shot.
I'll probably just leave it at small JPG. especially since an Optimo takes a lot longer than an HR.

Since I sold Matt that Cooke, it would be fun to see that one in high speed.

I've already seen it realtime. ;-)

I vote for the Optimo.
And yes please smaller file. ;)
Harry
