i'm about to work on a drama shooting 16:9 in 4K. do i need to shoot a frame leader to give to the post house showing the frame markings seen in the monitor and evf as there is more being recorded than the area inside them. i know the look around area is not recorded but the 16:9 markings are not on the edge of the recorded area.

best to shoot your own framing chart -

Yes you should.

you'd be amazed how often post house get this wrong, even though it should be a no brainer. Many times i've arrived at grades (for film) and found the wrong framing even when there is a frame leader !! I uually check this as a matter of course before I do anything else.
