Rendering is one thing...but since debayering processing is depending very much on CPU (yes i know also software), the extra cores from pixellexis will hopefully give us 4K debayering realtime playback. If redbrix can become the extra cores to enhance every processing in Scratch, then it is a yes for me. I will buy it ! people spend more on processing power, hundreds thousand of dollars, this is not a $$$.$$$ system. At least consider REDcard if redbrix is too much.

JPEG2000 is a distribution format - not a post-production format...
This technology would need to be able to produce uncompressed frames -or at the very least be able to transcode to other CODECS besides JPEG2000...
Really? JPEG2000 is not an editing/intermediate codec?
What do you consider to be the best intermediate codecs?
I believe Dalsa does it too. Also what I really really want to know is why anybody except for Iridas has written a proper debayer algorithm implemented as a GPU shader. this is exactly what CUDA is for.
Someone told me the other day that assimilate is owned by apple. Is that true?
Ummm... no.
Although the thought of Apple owning a company that releases a Windows-only product is sort of amusing.
