  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Brent, I recently got my email notifying me that my RED is ready to ship, however in the email it says I owe in excess of $55,000 while on my red.com account the camera and accesories do not exceed 36,000. Can you please have Travis send me an updated email reflecting the correct amount I owe including taxes and shipping.

I Hope that my account will help processing orders fast .
I have paid in full sine more than one month now , i didn't change anything in my account section since that time , and still no shipping note ..
 
I didnt know it took them that long to ship the equipment. One month since you paid?? Why does that take that long??? I though once the camera was ready to ship and you paid that was it! Whats the deal here? How long do you have to wait until you get the boxes counting since you get your first email? Sounds weird!

he paid before he had to...i did it too...in the hope things would be a little faster. :)
 
i got my first mail on 7th july, and the camera was here at 18 of july.
11 days, a great deal.
have to say i had luck with the custom, camera came in at frankfurt, only 2 hours at the custom and went on the fedex truck.
i can´t complain.
i am sure there will be more happy faces next week :w00t:

How could you pay in advance? I thought they sent you the first email in which the instructions on how to proceed with the payment came in for you to make a choice, and afterwords they'd send you the cam depending on your place in line. I guess its kind of confusing, I mean, by paying earlier that they expect it I dont think you can make the process faster (you have seen it) but instead they get confused with who paid when. Dont know how it really is but for what we have read and the time this is consuming its my best guess. Hope you guys report when you get your tracking numbers, I am a little worried that there is only one week left in july and the next batch seems delayed, it said in july start shipping cameras up to the 2400's so I think we are late.

and i think a billionaire has no problem handling our money.

a lot of fence sitters caused trouble, then a vendor caused trouble...

I totally agree, but :whistling: if you see the results up to date you'll see that even when these guys paid a month in advance it did nothing for them, still no cameras. So my point is that trying to cut in line by paying before hand is useless, and by before hand I mean before they ask you to pay. A billionaire doesnt need your money in advance, nor will it give you a better place online if your payment comes earlier than expected. And I feel it is confusing in the terms that in a way you are not complying with the terms they set to make things faster.
Thats my guess.

OK, let's clear a few things up here. One, paying early does not confuse us. Two, we are not late - we stated that #2001-#2400 would start shipping in July - and that entire batch will begin shipping in July. We start processing #2201-#2400 next week. Three, you can pay in full 10 years in advance - but your camera will not ship until that delivery batch begins to ship. And by "begins to ship", I mean that when the order processing starts when you get your second email/"Your RED ONE is ready to ship" email. Four, we started processing #2101-#2200 last week. We clearly state is can take a minimum of 3-5 days to process your order from the time you have both paid in full AND once that batch starts shipping. And we have started shipping people in #2101-#2200.

So, yes, you can pay in advance of getting your emails (which VERY few people do). But it does not mean your order ships before that batch officially begins to ship.

In a nutshell, I know everyone is super-anxious to get their cameras. I would be banging these boards just like you guys if I was in your shoes. But at the end of the day, we are right were we said we were - beginning to deliver cameras in #2001-#2400 in July. No reason to hit any panic buttons, trust me.

i have the money...
i know what i want
i dont see a reason not to pay.period.
i live in europe and paying by wire transfer takes 5-7 business days.
so after getting mail one, it is too timeconsuming for me to send the money, so i send it before.

now i am relaxed and wait for the tracking number...
like brent said, no need to push panic buttons here...everything is cool

Just an idea Brent - I think you should consider changing the way you phrase the "2001-2400 begin shipping in July" in Big Jon's delivery thread. People seem to interpret it as if their camera will definitely ship in July if they're in that batch. What I'm hearing you say is that the only thing you're promising is that you'll start shipping that batch in the given period. I know that's what you're actually saying by using the word "begin", but maybe you should tell people how to interpret it so there's absolutely no room for misunderstandings.

I know you all are working harder than anyone in the world to push the project forward. I feel I am being misunderstood here. What I meant was that I dont understand how the process works once you start processing the order. Please correct me if I am wrong but I thought that I knew the following:
You get one email for you to decide and pay. Once you pay you get a second email stating that your camera is ready to ship, and then you get a tracking number. This process takes about 2 weeks. So if you start processing the next batch this last week of july not all the cameras in the batch are to be out of the warehouse by July. You started sending cameras in that batch in July but you wont fulfill all orders in that batch during July?
Still, I cant figure out how can you pay in advance if you dont even know how much you owe. If you ordered and EVF and a DRIVE and you are missing some stuff that your rep could have a word on, how can you just pay?

Just figuring out how to interpret Big Jon's sticky, and how could you pay in advance without confusion. I guess I'll just have to wait and see :P

Man it is so easy ,pay extra hundreds , and you will have extra money in your account , if you ordered more it will calculated , if you own them
you pay again , if not they will refund you all your left Balance .
 
there´s a kind of FAST wire transfer i did from germany, and it took only 2 days. my bank did it and it was fine. i do this always when money goes to oversea.
i did two payments and all were transfered in 2 days. it´s connected with some further fee, ask your bank.
