"The Red phone system is nuts" Mike Prevette - Thread 16777
???

Sorry, but I have a totally different experience with RED, and phone system so far.

I think the key is to remember who your representative is and use his or her phone extension.

All you have to do is enter number 1, then the extension.

No problem for me so far.

My Head Line is because of Dan Duran.

I remember having to speed up my EVF delivery for a shoot in Europe.

Dan was sick on that day, but yet he came to work to make sure we were taken care of so I could make my shoot in Europe. Got my EVF for Europe thanks to Dan. That is only one time among many times that Dan has help us over the last year.

I remember another time when Dan tag team with his co-workers to get me emergency parts after hours.

I remember Dan stayed in the office way after 9pm on a Friday night to help me.

Dan Duran has always been going above and beyond the call of duty for us.

Dan is the man.

Jarred has personally stepped in and help expedite the process even faster when we had a problem with another camera in South East Asia.

Kevin S. always answer his phone so far too.

Thank You Dan.

I feel the same for everyone else at RED.

I stand by this Head Line with personal experiences and proof.

I have to give some thanks to Dan myself. He has been with us since day 1 and always available for our many questions. the key is to stay in touch with your rep.
thanks dan,

My experience with Dan and the rest of the RED guys has also been great. Both via phone lines and IMs.
:calm:

We're just now awaiting a hopefully imminent delivery of our camera but I would chime in that our experience with our representative, Brian has been absolutely timely and excellent as well.

In fairness to Mike Prevette, however, I think his thread was simply addressing a momentary technical glitch in the RED phone system and not the general high level of customer phone service at RED in general.

In all my years of dealing with equipment purveyors (and that has been a few), I've never encountered such a dedicated group as the RED bomb squad in terms of customer support.

Tek,

Not really sure what your point is by making this thread. I didn't criticize Red's excellent customer service at all. I was just pointing out that the phone system seemed to be broken today.

In the future I'd appreciate it if you'd lay off the combative, sensationalized posts for the good of the community.

Just setting the record straight, I owe them the thanks.

Nothing combative, just balance in POV.

There has been too much negative lately.

My ten cents.

What is the purpose of this thread? If you want to debate Mike's post, just do it where Mike's post is. Otherwise your post is considered entirely inappropriate or even rude.

Nothing but problems on set of a Music video.
Lost 2 Rentals This Week!
ANNOYING website issues.
Is this camera a joke?

I am just tired of these other Head Lines, aren't you?

It's time I give thanks where it's owe.

I used to work in a thanks less job, so I understand.

I was in IT for over ten years.

I hope you will understand too.

It's good to hear something good once in while.

P. S. If it was a one time phone error, he could have said so too.
The Red phone system is nuts

I would not have a problem if it was stated something like this.

The Red phone system is nuts TODAY. LOL :-)
.
THIS IS NOT A DEBATE, JUST MY TESTIMONIAL.

Mike just threw gravel in the window cause the doorbell was broken.

This forum gets far too emotional too many times.

Another useless watchdog reaction post. It's like you go to a store and tell the clerk "I have a problem with this", or "this is broken"... And five customers walk to you and say "what do you mean you have a problem? I come here all the time and I NEVER have problems!"...

This is cracking me up! :)

Oh boy...

PS: There is probably 50 people who read Mike's thread that went through the same issue and tought "oh okay, tha's why, I'm not the only one to experience that phone issue"...

Some people just like to be alarmist but it must be a good thing if we're now complaining about the phone system probably made by cisco.
