We are shooting 15 2.2.1 because we know we can rollback to 14 where we can punch in while recording to set focus. We learned the hard way we cant do that with build 15. We're shooting alot of run-and-gun with minimal time to set marks and love build 14's usability. I hope they go back to that before the official release of 16! We shouldn't be penalized because other people are stupid and forget they're punched in! Heres the question: is the added dynamic range in build 16 worth it?

A film out of focus aint a film... sigh.

Kieth,

There are some other great tools that can replace punching in. I think that the edge highlight is one great way to hold focus in the situations you are talking about.

I can see your point about being able to record while the image is magnified and the combination of that with edge highlighting might be a killer combo for that run and gun style.

I would guess that most people want to see the entire frame they are capturing while they are recording and that is why it went the way it did in build 15.
