Just a sample of a broadcast program we have just output and is ready for distribution. The program covers the SriLankan Airlines Pro 6 Star Prime WQS surfing event in the Maldives.

We used a Red camera in the water and for some pretty pics on land around the islands. The majority of the rest of the program as shot XDCAM HD.

Enjoy

Build 15, Red 18-50 zoom
Shooting 3K 50fps and 2K 100 fps

On land footage (which is not in that clip) was shot just with a standard basic set-up to CF.

Water housing is a custom fibre glass build with controls over on/off, stop/start and zoom on the LCD which sits at the back. The lens port gives manual control over focus, zoom and aperture - easily accessible between shots but not during.

Program is initially going to Fuel Tv in Australia and US, but will hopefully be more widespread soon (waiting on funding approval from the sponsor of the event).

glad you enjoyed it
cheers

Good work.
How frequently did you operate focus , did you tend to leave it at a preset distance for max depth of field, or were you riding it most of the time?

WOW. Thanx!!! That's awesome. That last air is huuuuge.
I definitely wish to see that in 4K! :w00t:
Hope they will show it on Xtreme Channel on my cable here in Europe.
Can you please post some hires (like 3K, 2K) frameshots of this footage (underwater, airs, etc.) so we can enjoy it without too much comprimation?

hi guys,

- no riding focus during shots - trying to set and forget - usually using a high fstop so deep depth of field

- will try and post some still grabs and a HD version soon

Will have new surfing water footage for you soon - with build 16!

cheers

man that stuff looks so damn awesome. I can see this standard taking over from the HVX and other cams. Simply awesome
