Back at the beginning of July Red announced that we'd soon be able to use Red One to capture 4.5K and 2.40:1 aspect ratio.

However, the thread soon got filled up with so much speculation and other material that I couldn't tell if that feature HAS been made available.

Two questions: Can Build 16 record 4.5K yet? How can enable this mode (and the 2.40:1 ratio) in the menus?

Thank you,
Nelson

Build 16 wont record 4.5k/2.40 yet... that will come a little down the road.

wondering if it is possible to have 2.5k 16:9, as I understand S16 lenses will cover 2.5 K, so it will add extra resolution compared to the 2k 16:9 we have now ?????????????????????????

mark

for doc. shoot it would be very handy to work with short s16 zooms
I think this can be done if it is possible to set frame guides or add an extra user box like in other cameras

very nice idea, maybe with extra fps as well.
If if maximises the use of lens optically, resolution pixel-wise, and could deliver 80 or 90 fps, why the hell not!

Hey Jarred, do you have any idea how far down the road it will be? (just roughly)
