Hello!
We are planning to be traveling and steadycamming with the following:
-Red Body
-EVF/LCD
-base plate+cheeseplate
-2HDDs+racks
-4red brick batteries+charger
does any one of you know what the weight of these things are? except for the red body of course, the only item of which I found info about.
since we are waiting for all this stuff, we can t measure it by ourselves, but this info is essential for the construction of cases and airplane weight restrictions, and above all, for steadycam use. Except for actioncam, which is ideal for this configuration. tested.
thanks for all info

L

RED body = 9.7lbs or 4,528 grams
RED EVF = 2.8lbs or 1,310 grams
RED LCD = 6.5oz or 186 grams
RED Quickplate = 1.55lbs or 705 grams
RED Cheeseplate = 13oz or 369 grams
Two RED Drives = 50oz or 1420 grams
RED Cradle = 2.5lbs or 1,134 grams
Four RED Bricks = 9lbs or 4,100 grams
RED Charger = 2.5lbs or 1,134 grams

The above should all be pretty close to actual weights - close enough for your planning needs

Hope this helps you...

Hey, thanks a lot, you ve got great sounds on your site!
(besides the info I needed)

If there is any way to catch wherever you are a german tv channel called Bayerischer Rundfunk (award winning one, the only thing worth watching besides BBC here in Europe) and tune in to their night programme, Spacenight.
You will be delighted.
Weight issue was important for second-grade steadycam solutions, when I find myself far from Switzerland or in not-the-best rental options. I prefer using the actioncam when at home, whenever I can. It has been developed for red configurations, and works better and comfier than anything else. I bet steadycam owners (tiffen or sachtler) who got used to their gear would swap if they could try it. I couldn t put it down.
best regards

L

I've only got basic cable, but next time I'm in Europe I'll be sure to check it out.

OK, so now we're trying to figure out all specs about sizes. each dealer of every accessory (from bottom plates through monitors to fluid head) gives its precise specs to their product. so we have everything, we could weigh what we have (filters, ff and mb) but nothing that s new, and comes from red. I love their product specifications such as "you need the red charger"to make your battery work or "you need the cable to connect the drive" and so on and so on. No sizes though, just my souvenirs of shootnig a few weeks ago.
So if you or anyone else knows a site where someone had in mind to list all the dimensions of the gear, please let me know>

thanks and bye for now

L
