  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

While waiting...

Looks interesting man! What glass did you use?

Can you tell us what the story is about?

Wow, really looking great!!

This glass look badass to me.
the color rendition of those stills is awesome.

Thanks!

Mostly a really beaten up set of old cooke speed panchros, breathing like an older smoker and the 18mm vignetting like the end is near, plus a really odd german 90mm macro with a built in filter-tray. :)

I really love this glass.
But my customers want MP or UP...

How'd you get the skin tones and overall quality to look so grimy and dirty? Is that just the glass or a grade? Maybe a filter?

Only filtering is NDs and pola for the outdoor things. As I said, these things are basically not graded, just quickie snaps out of redcine. The lenses account for some, my photographer and the styles we discussed re lightning etc accounts for more.

Again, these are more like production previews than grades.

Cheers

I am really tending to favor the look of the older lenses on Red from what I have seen. Just my own personal taste. Is it difficult to find a set of old cooke speed panchros? I had seen a few on ebay a while back but haven't looked since.

I could be mistaken but I think Stephen Williams mentioned that some old cooke panchros were used on close ups in Mr. and Mrs Smith.

Any idea how much can one expect to pay for these...either independent or in a set?

My apologies for hi-jacking the thread with a shameless commerce plea,
but since someone asked: We do currently have a set of re-housed, vintage
Cooke Speed Panchro Lenses available for purchase.

Please call or email me if you are interested.

and now, back to the thread already in progress...

I have updated the facebook group with some casting stills of Linn (the "She")

Now I'll have a week of hollidays, and I'll move on with the project.

Hope Build 16 and the SDK is on track before I come back from Rome

Cheers!

Your work is invariably extremely inspiring - truly showing what this camera is capable of. Many thanks.

Have a good Roman holiday.
