  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red Rushes Manual...

Just downloaded it. Funny thing (BUG) when you resize the window everything goes away. Had to minimize and resize the window again for the options to come out again :p heh

Qre you on 10.4 or 10.5 osx? Seems like some strange things are happening
on 10.4.

You are right, am on a 10.4 MBP, downloading today on 10.5 iMac. The problem I have on the iMac is I dont know how to downgrade to QT 7.3 as I downloaded 7.5. Any clues?

Was able to input a LUT

Was able to input a LUT

Imported a clip, placed the saved RedAlert .rdx file in the same folder as the source clip, chose the Look Source in RedRushes as RDX +in/out (the first choice on the list). I made the .rdx grade an ugly green so I knew I could tell it was applied.

After the render, both RedAlert and RedRushes hung. I'll test more and post soon.

...So are we saying that, for the moment, the most efficient way to apply a look is to drag each clip into RedAlert, load the save preset file (RLX) and then drop that into RedRushes.

Is there a more efficient way to uniformly apply looks directly in RedRushes? Or is this a feature that will/can be enabled later?

Right now it seems like one way to go is to make your corrections in REDALERT.

Let it be autosaved as an RSX.

Then process in REDRUSHES using the RSX option.

I would love to be able to select an RLX (see earlier in this post).

Not possible right now.

I would love to be able to select an RLX (see earlier in this post).

Dylan, that's what I was referring to -- you can save an RLX, go to:

>File>Save Preset

Then when you load a new clip in RA, you can go straight to:

>File>Load Preset

and apply the same RLX to a new clip...

but the dream will be when we can just add the same RLX to a RedRushes batch, and bypass this RedAlert step, instead putting the RLX to a batch in RedRushes, yes?

and there is currently no way to do this?

That would be a slam-dunk as a time-saver.

That is exactly what I'm talkin' about.

Currently the only option is an RSX in REDRUSHES.

So the "workaround", really is to do your correction then exit REDALERT. The RSX is automatically created, then render out in REDRUSHES.

QUOTE]RSX is the auto save.

You get RLX when you select "save preset". No RDX that I know of?

Thanks for the clarification Dylan. I'm often confused.[/QUOTE]

I'm often confused too. Deanan set me straight!

So one can apply some color correction in red alert and then use that preset to process the raw file in red rushes???? That would be awesome!!!

That's what we are discussing here.

You cannot "save as preset" though, because that generates an RLX file.

You can only use the autosaved RSX file.
