Help me please, may MacBook Pro wont let me log into my computer.

I was updating my software and after the update was complete I hit restart and as the updates started to install, my battery died... I come home, plug in my computer, everything is fine until I try and log in. It lets me log in, but it keeps returning back to the login screen after I log in. I tried restarting it, booting in safe mode, yet nothing I seem to do gets my computer running... Any ideas.

MacBook Pro 2.33 GHZ 2 gigs of Ram, Leopard 10.4.4 or 3, I forget. But its not 5.

icky- this is why Software Update warns about being connected to a power supply before updating. I'd try reinstalling from your system disc that comes with the MacBook Pro.

I want to install Leopard again, but I don't have my Leopard disc, I have my Tiger... Would reinstalling my Tiger affect my projects on FCP which are 6.0.3?

Does FCS2 even work with Tiger?

You can try to solve in three way:

1) Firewire restart (you need one more mac).
Restart pressing the letter "t". If the screen presents a big firewire logo after the restart, you can connect your Macbook to another Mac using it like an external drive. Backup all your data.
Then do a clean re-install of system and application.us

2) Login via Lan (again, you need one more mac).
Try to see via network your macbook pro. If you are able to login and to navigate inside, you can backup your data and bla-bla...

3) Call an authorized technician...

Hope this help...

Thanks everyone, the only thing is I dont have my Leopard DVD with me, it hinders what I can do... I have OSX Tiger, will that work with the new quicktimes, FCS and REDCINE and REDALERT!
