Where can I find help files or user manual for RED ALERT and REDCINE? I am new to the RED world and need some basic instructions to know the basics of two software.

Thanks.

That would be way to much fun actually having a manual for Red Alert or RedLine or RedCine for that matter. Half the fun is constantly pulling your hair out, wasting time, doing things over and over again until you finally figure it out for yourself. Besides if they actually made a manual it would mean they couldn't call it beta anymore.

There are tutorials on Redcine located on the Red.com/support website, just click on the version history link under the Redcine download link. Scroll down a bit and you will see 5 links to RC tutorials, you will need to copy the links and paste them in your browser. There is also some info on the RED FAQ section of the website. If you are having a hard time figuring things out please call me, email me or PM me here and I would be happy to help you.

My extension here is 7937, my email is kevins at red.com and I am the workflow support person here at Red.

Tutorials, Documentations

I do not see the tutorials on the support site, have they moved?

I am trying to figure out which workflow (Redcine vs. Red Alert) our facility should use. Documentation on both would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Be prepared to use them all, they have subtle differences.... as you learn them, pick the best tool for what you want to do.
We are running both PC's and Intel Macs with the installs.
One of the best new apps is RedRushes (for Intel-Mac only) that downloads with the RedAlert package (along with Redline)...
look for another little Icon under "Applications"...

Got my most urgent problem solved with launching REDCINE (see my other post at REDCINE forum) based on your advice.

Will continue to bug you as we learn to use the software, and learn the whole and yet evolving post workflow in general. You will hear from me again.

Thanks,
Derek
