Sorry if this is a topic that has been covered and covered and covered! On the LCD display I now have a icon with a lock that has a "ghost busters" slash. I looked in the red manual and could not find anything.

The camera is using build 15

Thanks for any and all info.

A few things about Genlock since this thread is here.

The camera needs Tri-level sync.

This will allow the lock to show without a line through it.

When you Jam Sync the camera, it shows a chain, but only when you start recording, then once it shows the chains, they stay until it loses jam sync.

You can't have Jam Sync or Genlock when over cranked. I know that sounds really basic and most people know that, but I've seen very experienced people think there was a problem with the camera because they switched it to 48 fps and then they got errors about the camera not being able to genlock.

If I may add my question to this thread, and sorry if this has been covered as well, but what does the DROP box mean in the LCD? It always says 0.

My coworkers and I joked that it was how many times the camera has been dropped  Good it says 0 I suppose.

It is a good thing it says 0, it shows you how many frames have been dropped. I've never had any either, count yourself blessed.

Drop value

Drop value

what does the DROP box mean in the LCD? It always says 0.

If you were shooting with a RED-DRIVE and you subjected that to a lot of vibration or a hard shock, then the heads may skip and you would get a DROP frame indication. So the value 0 is good ;-)

Excellent. Thanks guys. :o)

That's a nice little thing to have ... well, unless it starts counting up!
