We all know that the Red Nikon mount isn't as solid as the mount on the Nikon cameras. In the past, I couldn't see any difference when I rotated my lens. There was play but it didn't affect the image. I am now noticing an image shift after I rotate the lens in the barrel.

Did any Reduser figure out a solution? I'm thinking maybe an O-Ring? Or a better mount? I remember someone talking about bending the clips in for a snugger fit.

Please help Redheads!

Are you sure it's the mount rotation causing the shift? I can make a lens rotate a mm or so but the image never shifts. The image shifts I have gotten are from the lens focusing mechanism. I'll double check it.

Positive. It used to never be the case, but for some reason, now I am seeing it when I move the barrel of the lens, not the focus wheel..

I'm experiencing the same as joelnet. Lens focusing mech causing shift (on lenses I usually send back for another) but not lens rotation.

Same as Kenn and Joel. The Lens body shifts, the Nikon mount itself hasn't been the issue for us. =\ EOS mount couldn't come faster, could it?

Richard,

one right info for you:

"3 23499 Professional F Mount incl. a clam ring for a maximum hold of the lens, when using manual follow focus or motorized lens control systems

4 18381 Nikon F Mount Note: Do not use Nikon AF lenses with this mount, the lens may not release without damage !"
