  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Quicktime Player with Green Window

I updated the RED Quicktime codec and this works now but FCP keeps crashing when I open it. Any ideas? I upgraded to Quicktime 7.5 and then tried downgrading (not sure if I did this properly) to 7.3 and 7.4, but the problem still remains...FCP crashes upon startup.

An error window pops up saying "The application Final Cut Pro quit unexpectedly. The problem may have been caused by the REDCODE.QT plug-in."

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have to complete a previously edited video for a client today but I can't open FCP anymore!

Thanks,

Norm

I'm running into the same issue...FCP is constantly crashing. I drop a P proxy on the timeline, then play and FCP vaporizes. What's the trick?

QT 7.4.5
OS 10.4.11
FCP 6.0.3
REDCODE 3.0
REDALERT 3.36
REDCINE 1.08

I've tried:

1) Deleting REDCODE.QT.component from Library/Quicktime/ and reinstalling. FCP 6.0.3 still crashes.

2) Tried updating to QT 7.5, FCP 604, reinstall REDCODE 3. Still crashes.

My assumption that I should switch the sequence settings to REDCODE to make the orange RT render bar disappear was wrong. Leaving it at ProRes resolved the crashing issue.
