  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Playback error...

And we had this strange playback codec error. The camera performed normal, our second crew shot two takes and when they tried to playback it at camera, the camera said playback error - codec error. And these two takes can't be played in camera and when the proxies are played in comp, the quicktime crashes. When we put a new CF card in, there was no repetition.

Only we were forced to reshoot those two shots in very tight time schedule...but lucky to discovered it after shot, cos we don't playback everything right away

CF malfunction?
 
Possible media fault. Did power drop or anything similar happen during those two shots? If not was there a change in overall project settings on those two shots?

No, power failure (visible) no changing in project for sure...

Can you open yours file in RedAlert , if you can just make new proxy . .

Will try tmrw. Just tryed quickly the proxies and they are dead...
 
i've experienced Clip_fault, Recording_fault as well as Playback_fault.

all those error just happened in just 4days shooting.

and I've checked that clip_fault error can't play on RedCine too.(oh, only I've checked the proxy.)

the Rec_fault usually happened in timelapse rec.


but you know what? I recorded on Lexar 8GB CF card, not from the Red. Red CF card was too expensive, so I tried some ultra-fast CF card(SONY,TRESCEND) but only Lexar can do the work on Red One.

I'm quite sure this is media problem. since I've experienced all thouse problems at 1~2% of chances of each shooting. (you all know this is very high possibility.)
 
Today we have the playback error-codec error, we're seeing some shots in the RED DRIVE. The camera was frezzeeeee, can't exit on playback mode. I just turn it off, when it wakes up, everything was fine!! the R3D and the proxys.
Any idea what does make this happend?
 
I've had a playback error several times when in 1080P playback and the magnify focus button is hit. Could be a bug.

i had the same, pres exit, press magnify to make it normal and then press play again and it works good.
