  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Can't emphasize that one enough.

How many great new things you have churned out the past few weeks alone, and how often you were met with angry and/or unrealistic demands amazed me.

Hmm... When the 16gb was announced, some were quick at critizising the cost.

When Build 16 (Beta) was released, some were quick at focussing on what was lacking.

Basically, whenever Jim announces something, there seems to be always someone (within a day of an amazing announcement) who asks or even demands more.

To name but three.

Actually I call that constructive criticism. A lot of the people letting him know about features that's non existing, are very experienced filmmakers pointing out features that's needed in every day life.
RED is an incredibly naive and juvenile camera that needs a few years of testing to get it up and running. We are those testers. This camera will become more improved and better and eventually be considered a true tool a lot faster then any other cam just because of those remarks and demands.

So I say keep it coming and RED keep listening no matter how tiring it sometimes are.

Edit: Wanted to ad that since we are the testers this process will be seriously fast and a 100 times more efficient then any other cam company could imagine.

Its a balance to give constructive criticism. RED are human beings operating with emotion and enthusiasm just like the rest of us. But, they are a company, and when you open up a forum like this and encourage feedback there will be goo and bad and just some trying to make the camera the best it can be. When RED is done improving the RED One there will be no need to ask for more cause we know it will fall on deaf ears. Should we be respectful? Hell yes, but just like children we all have to test the boundaries. And I don't think its disrespectful to be upset when RED misses a target delivery date. Like I said, the people are human but as a consumer spending thousands of hard earned dollars on one mans word alone I expect a certain standard of quality from my product no matter how young or old the company may be. At the end of the day its business and not a personal attack to Jim and the rest of the RED team.
 
Without the Red One, I would just be *another* HDV shooter.

Red (the camera, and the company) has inspired me to rise to the level of knowledge, commitment, and dedication that defines what a professional is!
