Focus Assist

Hello guys.. (and ladies)

Sorry for the silly question but how does the Focus assist work in the LCD?
Okay theres a red bar very nice, it doesnt change when i intentionally blur though, so how do i know im in focus?

Also, how to i get 1:1 of the picture to check focus on the LCD?

It does tell you in the manual though........

The red bar is just showing where the focus assist is being applied. You can move it up and down, and make it bigger using the joystick. Once you're happy with where it is, press the joystick in. The red bar will dissapear and you'll have your focus histogram appear below your image, telling you which pixels are in focus.

Thanks Pete.. In the manual in page 24 just says it exists.. but no instructions.
didnt find the right page perhaps.. The index at the first page is vague.

How about 1:1 or 2X zoom? how do i do that?

Expanded focus is set to User Button 2 in build 16.

Yes, button 2 zooms in and you can pan the image around. Unfortunately, it's not 1:1 pixels.

er.. i tried it with Build 15. It zooms in like 10% .. is it normal or is that for something else? Does build 16 zoom in more? Im scared of build 16.. cos no way back.. gulp..

That would only be true if the camera is at 2K and you are already "zoomed in" Try that again when you re in 4K

oops.. aheee you're right im at 2K.. ahem.. will try it at 4k so in terms of focus assist build 15 and 16 both have it.. (i have build 15)
