Where can i read or see a step by step red data workflow, for to understand all process of making backups and on-set editing?

Thank you

Not sure where you'll find EXACTLY what you are looking for BUT you will find your answers by reading the boards. Also, you'll learn just by doing it. Is it possible for you to get .r3d files and practice?

Can only speak for myself but we:

-Take the full CF card from the camera and put it into a Lexar FW800 card reader connected to a Macbook Pro.

-Use R3D Data Manager to copy the files to a mirrored raid drive and verify the copy (We use a sonnet F2 Drive)

-Once the copy is complete we trash all the files on the CF card and send it back out to be shot with. This way the card will read as unformatted on the camera. The AC will only use cards that come up as unformatted.

-During down times we will copy the files from the drive over to a G Raid mini. So we have the files on two separate drives.

For us, we go over the footage in Red Alert or by looking at the proxies. We've found actually starting to edit the footage in FCP to be problematic, since it appears to be too much for the Macbook.
