  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Build 16 Low Light footage!!

The post for those stills is just going through RedCine (I wish ISO was fixed because it works amazingly well in RedAlert) and then doing slight changes in Aperture. I wish I could find an easy way to send those tiff in Color.

As for low light, I couldn't believe all the details I could pull from those shots, especially with the ISO setting in RedAlert.
The noise is now totally different very very close to film and very low unless you shoot at night (not dusk nor dawn) with no lights at all.

Build 16 is the deal for me, I am totally sold, the Revolution won't stop anytime soon, brothers:red_bandana:

Love it! Really different direction than a lot of the footage on here! Awesome work, keep posting!
 
Man I got goosebumps looking at that 4k grab! B16 looks so organic and the dynamic range there is chilling.
 
wow. that is beautiful. looks like film.

i shot some stuff tonight in extremely low light outside at T1.3 with Build 16. I couldn't believe how silky smooth and organic it looked compared to the exact same footage i shot at the same location in same lighting/Tstop etc a few weeks ago on Build 15 (which also looked great =p) but man, the comparison in same lighting etc between 15 and 16 is really something.
 
Awesome stuff!!! Build 16 was a week late on our project:( Oh well...
 
Those who are having a bit of trouble with their REDS should check out this footage, or at least the stills.
Any boot trouble on this shoot?

Not a single boot issue, just one clip refused to playback.

I second all of the comments here Emmanuel. Your shots are both breathtaking and inspiring. I really can't wait to get my camera.....i just hope it works
