  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Sony is showing 4K images all over in States

I'd like to check that out. So is it safe to assume that the entire picture was done at 4K? No VFX shots bottlenecked at 2K? I remember someone talking about the "4K" presentation of Blade Runner actually being a blowup from a 2K copy or something... haha.

Glad that we could help out.

4K content is here. Films such as “Guerilla” and “The Argentine” were shot on 4K cameras.

Not to argue here, but at least one of those was shot with anamorphic lenses, using just a part of the sensor, so technically not 4K at all -- right?

I'm all for 4K btw, but that's a little misleading maybe.

Unless i'm wrong of course. Which is known to happen.

I had quite a conversation with the guys at the Sony booth last year at NAB, and the new systems are just unbelievable in their quality, the new CineAlta system is a beast even bigger then the one below, but what an image.

I don't know how but I will have one of this in my studio soon, as it is a must have for any Production Studio working with RED, as this is the only true way to literally blow people out of their seats, and with the current projects in Vegas, I know that with one of this, the RED images will be taken in an all different way.

How much would one of those babies set you back?

Full system about $100K but that is with a great discount and then some, otherwise the full system will run over 120K, as obviously you don't just buy the projector it self, but sound, screen and control platform.

They are also several versions of it, and depending on the venue you chose the right one for you, but for now I contu=inue to use the very little brother, the SXRD Pearl, and is getting installed in the new Vegas studio, the big brother hopefully will come soon, to blow away the Vegas community.

PLENTY here Ketch!

Manhattan is one big catwalk.

hehe, Didn't wanted to mention the Gambling part!

I know, Manhattan was the first city I come of the boat at back in 89:) while I was working on my very short model carrier, as I discovered that I like to be behind the camera way better then in the front, and be in commend of it rather then be treated like a piece of meat.
