this is what makes the internet so interesting. Are you really nirav shah and do you really have a access to RED and ZEISS SUPERSPEEDS? why don't you shoot your own projects in RED? and may i know what projects are you working on right at this moment?

is this to buy or to rent?

ehm...who is nirav shah? director? dop? sorry, I´m an NRI and know shit about names/celebs from india. ok, except the late subrata mitra or satjajit ray...

but as I`m reading this it sounds like mr. shah`s gonna rent his stuff out out chennai...

Guys, Watch your words.
Yes, he is Nirav shah. Just because he is on this forum doesn't mean that you can suspect him.
What do you mean by "Buy or Rent"

Kalone, hope you can recollect a movie named DHOOM.You saw it through his eyes.

sorry, but there are a lot of imposers in professional forums like this. especially from bollywood, india. most of the lens/cameras that were stolen in NY lately are found in bollywood for instance.

Warning!: to anyone who's dealing with this characters, please be extra careful.

P/s: If you are a genuine person, i.e: nirav shah, do not be mad, because a disclaimer like this, in this kind of forum is necessary, for everybody.

That may be true for smaller cameras and lenses.

I felt (may be it's just me) your approach is itself is very overreacting and suspecting. I understand that one should be cautious on forums, but one can approach anyone more politely. Also,it's not our business to tell him how to use his RED.

Do a little math no one would steal a RED numbered 469 with Zeiss Super Speeds and claim himself as Nirav Shah.

Just my 2 cents, due apologies if I am sounded offensive.

the RED is available only for rent...theres absolutely no need to worry about imposters!

Why didn't you privately message Nirav instead of publicly placing suspicion on him?

WTF!!
I find this quite an overreaction. There are not any more thieves in Bollywood than In NYC.
I think that is a very arrogant and paranoid statement even with disclaimer at the bottom.
Before you expose your ignorance you could have Googled who N.S is.
One of the most talented DPs from India.
You may be excused if you Watch "Banaras" by him.

i KNOW who is NIRAV SHAH is! I have no doubt about his ability in cinematography! i think babubu pointed this question to kalone and not me,because i KNOW who N.S is. i didn't suspect N.S. I suspect the reduser.net forum user in the name of N.S. Get your facts right.

FIRST: This is no overreacting or arrogant in any way. Not in a red user at least. This is because a new user (by any name) claiming to have a red camera or high end optics and want to sell or rent those always,ALWAYS get suspicious at.

SECOND: a red one camera OWNER mostly will never have a post of ONLY 3! (at the time of the post). certainly not a owner #469. If one is genuine owner of a sub 500 camera (who reserved it,to buy it) one might have joined a year ago (not MAY 2008). Red is a new technology and need a lot of new information to operate. A professional who works mainly in film (who ever you are) would have tons and tons of question to ask and to operate red one or at least to verify the information to operate red one.

Even if N.S just got the red one camera as a second hand user (who MIGHT bought red for higher price from the reservation buyer) it is too soon to have it on rent with expensive SET OF lens.

i didn't PM the poster (in the name of n.s) because obviously he would have said he REALLY is n.s. i publicly placing suspicion on the user because to warn other users of this highly suspicious user (in the name of n.s)

ABOUT THIVES IN BOLLYWOOD.

there are thieves everywhere in world. i have no doubt about that. but we are talking about specific thing about our industry here. You might want to read this thread about equipment in USA got lost and mainly ended up in bollywood.

http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14380&page=2

(read post #15 and #20 ).

Conclusion: babubu (not picking on you) even you have over 200 post in reduser and you don't even have a red! (i assume). if you are renting a red, i would have wished you good luck on your business. SERIOUSLY. a user with the name of n.s, who joined MAY 2008,with posts as little as 3 and want to rent away a red one with a number of 469 is a very suspicious deal. AND i had to warn to my fellow americans about it. Sorry if it hurts. but this is reality.

WELCOME TO THE INTERNET.

(nirav shah is a cinematographer. he must have a slr camera with him. ASK the user in the name of nirav shah to post pictures with his red one #469 setup. i bet the user will not if he not N.S. i highly suspect that the user will say posing with red #469 is not needed and gives 1001 reason not to do so)

Hey Havaraj,

What happened to you, are you in continous bad mood.
Do you think all Sub 100 RED owners have posted here.
I personally know Sub 500 owners who are not even registered in REDuser.net till date.
Do not be too panicky, Looks like you have bitter experience, but at least by now you should be able to make it out, how to estimate if people are real or not.
NS has not necessity to prove you his identity, those who know , know him.

Congratulations Gopal, you seem quite stoked!

Gentleman, I hope you post some footage (if one is able to do so of course) you have a most beautiful country and people. Footage from a Red of India, her people and places would be a wonderful thing to see.
