This might sound like a stupid problem, but it's a problem. Every time I render a qt out of RED Cine and then try to playback the QT, all I see is the first frame of video through out the whole clip. I'm on the latest version of QT (7.4.5) using Tiger 10.4.11. MacPro 2x2Ghz Dual Core Xeon. suggestions? Thanks. -steve.

Now I got this problem with REDCINE 108

PC fully loaded RedCine XP 32
NVIDIA 8800
QT 7.5

Was working fine with REDCINE 106 few hours ago, just upgrated to 108 and got this problem.

Switching RedCine to -dd double debug gives this:

21:23:22.99 DEBUG: QT ADD: 1024x512x4 (2)
21:23:22.99 WARN : QT: Failed to get the compression data size (error -50)..
21:23:23.53 DEBUG: QT ADD: 1024x512x4 (2)
# : Repeated 18 times

How it was fixed on the Mac?

update to Leopard...

We've got this issue on Leopard. Had it months back and solved it by not mixing resolutions in the timeline, but now it's showing up sometimes even without mixed format timelines.

The good news is the latest version of Redcine doesn't crash when rendering in the background, which previous versions almost always did for us.

I did try to render just one single clip recorded in 4K 2:1 and then I wanted to render it to QT 1K 1024x512

Above rendering will produce single frame stuck and repeated throughout the whole QT file.

This is RC108

I have had this problem for months now and never got a workable solution. The single frame freeze on Red Cine Quicktime outputs happens every time I try and do more than one clip in a batch after about 300-400 frames are rendered properly the last frame in the sequence freezes and remains on for the balance of the clip or batch of clips. I have a MacPro Tower 8 processor with 4 Gig of Ram and OS 10 and I just updated Red Cine to the latest build 108 what gives?

Possible Fix

Possible Fix

I am currently suffering from the same issue. The only work around I have discovered is to render one clip at a time, then delete that clip from the timeline before rendering the next clip. So the clip you render should always be first in the timeline. This seems to solve the quicktime frame freeze issue. However, this is not an ideal fix, because it means you must baby the software, and leaves you unable to render through the night while you sleep. We can only hope that red fixes this bug in their next update.
