OK gang,
I've arranged with Anvil to get a 15% discount on the cases if I can get 20 or more orders. I will have to broker the master account but they will be shipped to you individually. Price will be $320 each, plus shipping. Since I'm being such a nice guy and organizing this I hope you all understand if I request that you only order the black or dark grey color. I'd like to keep the blue exclusively for the Ninja's cases.

I'll require a check or money order for the total amount before I place the orders, since It's my account and I'll have to pay for 20 cases regardless.
It will probably take two to three weeks for the cases to be made and shipped.

If you'd like to purchase please send an e-mail with the following info:
Name or Company
Shipping address
Number of cases wanted
Color (Black or Grey)

To:cases@4kninjas.net

Once I get a shipping cost form Anvil I'll send you a final invoice with a total. You send me a check or money order (Certified check or MO is faster) I NEED AT LEAST 20 CHECKS IN MY ACCOUNT TO PLACE THE ORDER. So please be prompt and responsive to e-mails. I'll do my best to do so as well, and hopefully you can all have cases in a month or so.

very interested- should sort out my case solutions in a few days and act accordingly.

Thanks for setting this up, Evin. I'm interested... Any chance of customizing the layout a bit? It's all good, except I'd want to change the cut-out for the RED Cradle to hold my Ugrip mounting box and maybe something else along with it in that area.

Ugrip mounting box has 1/4-20 and 3/8" threaded holes in it and can be mounted anywhere. I typically attach it to a RED or Ugrip universal mount and hang it under the bottom rods at the rear of the camera. For steadycam operation, I mount it on top of the camera to the ET cheese plate. But you could mount anywhere you find a 3/8" or 1/4" mounting hole.

I like the Ugrip stuff. It's very well made and very light, but strong. The two complaints that I do have with it is that you have to use a hex key (they supply one the proper size with a T-handle) to set up or make any adjustments when you start placing the gear on your camera. And due to the flat or 2-dimensional nature of the handheld system, you can't adjust the position of your grip handles vertically below the camera without more add-on pieces from Ugrip or something you cook up on your own. For most people this isn't a problem and I don't mind how it all fits together, but I know some who find it awkward. Oh, and the rubber pads inside the mounting box should be thicker to help absorb more vibration from the RED Drive. But it's still a much more solid mount than what I have seen from the RED cradle.

Anyway, I've we've hijacked the thread enough... There's already a thread around here on the Ugrip stuff somewhere.

That's a bit steep of a price, I'd recommend giving Junior of Encore cases a call, much lower pricing and tons of color options available.

Same case materials used, same foams, just more affordable.

Hmm- so only a savings of $50 or so and you're locked into the design. It seems like they could cut the price down a bit more for that much volume- no? :shiftyph34r:

They told me 20 was the cut off for a discount. If I don't get at least 10 orders by the end of the week I'll just give you guys the design number and you can modify/order whatever you like.

Never heard of Encore, get me quote, if you can beat it cool!
Remember this case is lighter weight high durability plastic not plywood that adds to the cost.

sent you email- i know you may be waiting for 20 people but could you respond to let me know you got my info?

Evin,

Just a thought: I always keep one RED Drive in the cradle. No sense in all that air taking up space when it can be filled. ;-)

Michael

That's part of the spec, there are two Red Drive slots and one rides in the cradle.

hey- sent email but did not get a reply so I don't know if ninja spam filter got it. I actually sent two emails expressing interest in case. just let me know if you got it. I have not contacted anvil (yet, anyway) but I like your case layout but need to get the ball rolling on something soon

I.ve got email from cases@4kninjas.net

"I must have payment in advance for the group buy.
You can order from Anvil directly at full price and that may be possible
though.
Contact:..."

Again I repeat here that I will WIRE the money in advance.

I just want to have one of those cases for my RED.
