Booting time is not the same in both cameras I hold. Aren't all cameras born equal? Are there any parameters that will affect the booting time?

I think the camera boots slow when you are in a hurry, and very fast when doing test or non time critical stuff ;)

I suspect it's like buying two identical cars off a carlot... one will invariably outperform the other one. I think for anyone shooting something requiring precision matching between or among cameras (3D for instance) it would behoove both buyer and RED to sell and buy such cameras as a perfectly matched set or group.

Yes, we noticed our first one (#270) booted up around 50-55 seconds. RED now is saying improved bootup of 68 seconds. It does indeed seem every Camera has it's own startup time. I'm sure there are several factors involved.

Any options that can be disabled to speed up startup?

That a nice attitude to life I would say but doesn't apply here. I am talking about both cameras booting time after a long long time of being off.

So can it be that even the dynamic range and the ISO sensitivity of two cameras will be different? That way if I have to replace a body in the middle of a shoot for some reason, will I get two different results? Will this differences be noticeable or minor as also in film you mix some emulsion numbers but as long as both are close enough (and you have a good story to shoot) nobody cares or notice.
