Shot a commercial with Phantom HD 1000p and RED222 at 2K with 120p at the same time. Zeiss MasterPrimes. Here is a first pict from RED222, one day BEFORE B16. I have to show you, because, this quality IS incredible. If you speak about the quality of a RED picture, you have first to put the best lenses on the camera and you see a big difference. Remember, this is 2K NOT 4K.

Nice but if you could agree that the best lenses are not Zeiss UltraPrimes.

Look for Zeiss MasterPrimes or if you can not afford it then experiment in a near future with diverse still lens brands on upcoming mounts like IMS and Birger EF on RED.

i agree we use the master primes when production can afford them, they are the best lens for the camera as they are specifically made for an electronic sensor, the d20 and now d21.

i wish i could post some pics from the "tree of life" some epic footage which i hope you wil all see in the movie theatre in a year or two.

you're right, these were masters....
Normaly I have the money to use standards or ultras, so thats why I was missleaded by Mr. Freud...

Here is one older example from built 13 or 14 (correct me if I'm wrong) "UK JACK, OK!" bear, 120fps 2K.

Also a bit razor sharp shot with Zeiss 85mm T2.1 Standard (Vintage).

Master Primes are incredible lenses, but were not made specifically for an electronic sensor.

Now that's what I call a set.
The pic looks very good. So this was your complicated shoot you told me about.
I'm looking forward to the footage.

Tim

Thanks, will post some shoots next week, quality comparison between Phantom and RED is interesting, what I can say until now: Phantom seems to have more problems with greenscreen in 2K than RED

Wow, me like it verrry much :) I like to see best picture quality from Red. Thanx.
Daniel can you please post real size of 2K still? Just more info for my eyes.
Even same frame in real size from Phantom will be nice...
2K footage? maybe? Sorry I'm just resolution hungry ;)

wohooo

Daniel,

That looks AMAZING, my hat off to you once again! Here's a little take on the shot, turning the water into blue while keeping the flesh tones nice and warm.
