  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Are there any status of the Cooke /i-datalink?

Is there any news regarding the /i-port? Im having another of those "match 300 live-action clips with the 3D camera" projects.. It would be nice to spare a couple of hours on "monkey-labour" :shiftyph34r:

Do you have any experience with 3D-tracking from Red? Some say you'll have problems anyway because of the rolling shutter, but these may be Red haters.

Regards,

Uli

We have experience with 3D tracking and I have to say that the Red images are one of the finest to work for that purpose.

I actually can't wait for that feature to be enabled and I have to admit I'm a bit sad it has been put aside some time ago.

Where did you hear this?? We have not had any trouble tracking Red footage.

3D tracking works nicely.. Im don't think you have to worry about the rolling shutter skewing too much...

However, many scenes are just locked cameras. Then you don't have anything to track on, but rely most of measurements taken during the shots. In my eyes /i will save alot of work and time both during the takes and later in post..

Yes, I'd really like to see my i-tech working too. Is it possible we'll get this working for X-mas? Ho Ho ho? Sooner would be better, i thought it would be working when I got my camera months ago, but i don't even have the connector... I'm hoping they'll send us a kit to add soon.

I was chatting with Guy at ZGC and he indicated that both Red and Cooke had a lot on their plates but now, having caught up a bit, the details are being sorted out. He implied that we might see this soon.
Cheers,
Harry
