  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hi!

I am looking to buy used - but obviously 100% working - accessories for the RED camera.

Here's what I'm looking for:

- RED LCD (with cable and arm) - doesn't matter if metal or plastic but will pay less for plastic version
- RED ARM (9 in)
- TOP HANDLE
- TOP HANDLE EXTENSION
- ARRI 15mm BASE
- BATTERY BELT CLIP
- DC Power cable (10 feet)
- RED CRADLE

I am building around the 15mm system, so I'm also interested in the following used Element Technica items:

- Top Rod Mount (15mm)
- Top Cheese Plate

I threw out there everything that I need. If you happen to have any one of the used (but in very good condition) items that I mentioned, please get back to me with what you have, and how much are you asking for it.

We use the battery plates in our housings, so we would like to buy yours if you have switched to anton bauer and have a red battery plate leftover.

Medavoym: call 954 937 6600 or email me about the 3 RED cf cards. I really haven't used mine - I only ordered them because the hard drive wasn't ready (5 minutes on a cf card in an underwater housing isn't very practical) I tried to return them since my harddrives showed up 3 days later but RED wanted to charge 30% restocking so I kept them. They are virtually unused except for a couple test shots and software upgrades. $160 each ($20 more than I would have gotten restocking). If you buy 3 that's $480 and then I only have to add $70 to get one 16gig cf card - so you get 24 gigs for less than the price of 16.

I believe you can get new Lexar 8Gb CF cards for about $80.

I understand that yours are RED CF cards (re-branded Lexars)... but $160 seems high.
 
Prices on the CF are getting slashed, you can find the Lexars at Adorama for about $89 here the link http://www.adorama.com/ILXCF3008GB.html Not sure if this are the ones that yuo can use with the RED, I don't risked when it comes to recording media, I pay a little extra if I have too, but I go the safe way.

I have 4 ET 15mm top mounts and would be interested in selling 2.

Also have a 5" Red LCD that's only been on a couple of shoots. Perfect condition. I'm interested in getting a 7".

If you have the cradle, if you can make a power extension cable, you can unbolt the battery v-mount from the cradle and use the drive portion separately. You can then take the battery mount, put a battery on it, stuff it in a fanny pack and assuming the extension cable (or even just splice in a longer cable) was less than $290 you saved some money. The battery pack has a very heavy metal base that I don't understand the point of. If you find someone to make dc extension cables, please let me know. I keep posting but no one ever answers.

Yes they are re-badged Lexars, but RED have checked they will actually record at the speed required for RED's quoted highest bandwidth CF recording modes.

So you're paying extra for RED handpicking the fastest cards out of Lexar's fastest cards. If you just buy 300x Lexars off the shelf, your mileage might vary when trying to do the higher framerates at 4K.

Ketch and Medavoym: the UDMA 300s that you need are $179 not $89.

I have 3 virtually new RED 8 gigs for sale at $160 and 4 of these lexars for $125 each (originally soderburgh - supported fine by the RED). Or make me an offer.

Yeah I knew that, wasn't looking to purchase them, just linked the site.


Thanks for offering your cards as I do prefer to stick with RED certified cards.

However I ordered 2 RED 16GB CF couple weeks ago!

Just to let you all know, I'm not sure why Aqua thinks those cards won't work. I've got 4 of them and they all do the rez/frame rates that RED has put in the build 16 manual for 8 GB cf cards.

Matthew,

for me it is not a matter of them possibly not working, but since the company that builds the camera does sale the cards, I prefer to use them instead of third party cards, as they are certified by them.

I had several issues before with other CF cards on my DSLR's and stick with Sandisk Extreme IV, but now I'll be using RED CF only for both the RED and my 1Ds III.

I guess is a matter of preference and filling in a comfort zone with delicate footage at end.

I finally bought the ARRI 15mm Element Technica BASE - also for a good price. The last two things I'm looking for are:

- TOP HANDLE
- TOP HANDLE EXTENSION

Also, I don't necessarily need the following, but if someone wants to sell, please let me know:

- 1 (one) RED CF 8Gb card - I can pay around $100 (maybe you want to go for the 16Gb which are due soon)
- one spare battery plate (maybe you upgraded to the Anton Bauer plate and don't need the spare V-mount battery plate anymore).
