Might as well get it started... I have six cameras playing on shoots right now so I can't upgrade, but for those of you who have... post your thoughts, notes, questions and bugs on the new 4K tools here.

A few questions to get started:

* Is it possible with the new Quicktime Codec to control when it uses the full quality render?

* Is there a workflow using quicktime to, say, edit an _M proxy in Final Cut, but on render have those files render from the 4K layer to the sequence resolution (for e.g. 1080)?

* With the new codec is playback performance of the proxies improved (in QT or FCP)?

This was answered by RED in another thread. At the moment - no. However, they plan to implement this option in a later version. For now, the emphasis is on quality, and the _F QT's do a FULL debayer. Yay.

I'm well aware of Crimson... and use it often. But I'm wondering what the capabilities of the new QT codec are.
