My CF card is on loan currently, and not expected to be back within the week. I've read that firmware upgrades via the SD card can be done, but there have been comments that it can be a bit squirrely. Our camera came with B15 installed, so we haven't had to do a firmware upgrade until now. Please advise, thanks.

Sure that's still an option.

Never heard this before, we have upgraded every fw for the past 8 months on SD card only.

Thanks for the reply, guys. SD card it is then.

Look at it twice : I just got a message from red reading "cf card mandatory"... May be some misunderstanding... I'm asking again, since operation guide mentions both SD and CF cards for updating...

make sure you just have the "upgrade" folder on the CF card.
This folder has the "redone.su" file in.

Then your good to go :-)

SD card worked without problems. I followed the directions and loaded the build 15, version 2.2.8 (if I remember right) onto the SD card by copying the folder called Upload. Then I performed the upgrade. I ejected the card and put it back into my card reader on the Mac and erased the folder.
Then I did the same for build 16 (copying its Upgrade folder to the card). Performed the upgrade when prompted by the camera and lived happily ever after.

cant get upgrade from SD card working on my camera...trying to upgrade to build 20...SD card has ONLY the UPGRADE folder on the card...whats up? it says no upgrades are available or something like that
