Arri Standard Speeds T2.1 Lens for sale

I've bought a lot of lenses on ebay. You pays your money and you takes your chances...

It will be very interesting to see how much these for standard speeds go for...

Looks like the bidding is hot, and there is some time to go...

$5,595.00 USD for a used Standard Speed is - in my opinion - way too expensive. The introduction of the RED Prime lenses will hopefully put these old lenses into a more reasonable price range.

Considering that a new Ultraprime is 10k+ 5.5k for their forerunner seems not totally unreasonable, providing the lens is well mentained, no dents or scratches. The word "used" does have on well mentained lenses a different meaning than say with "used" cars for instance.

Please take in account that new UP are not immediately available and Red's primes a not even tested publicly.

I also must say that a single lens is less worth than when sold in a complete set. 5.5k seems only attractive for someone who has a set of standards and misses a 50mm. Not too many around, I suppose.

But it will sell, the lens market is nuts.

Looks like Buy-it-Now is gone...the lens is only $9 now.

anyone have experience buying lenses from ebay?

I have had good and bad, I recently aquired a Canon Century 150-600 for cheap because the lister spelled Canon, "Cannon" and no one found it. But I do know that you have to be careful, folks often dump their soft or otherwise substandard lenses on ebay just to turn around and get new and better ones.
