  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New Apple iPhone commercial:

This shot looks like CG to me.

My guess says only the actual iPhone shot was done with a camera...the rest, all CG.

Er... I would guess the opposite, actually. Everything past the "key-turning" looks CG to me -- which is funny, because Apple apparently built a full-scale replica of one of their retail stores for the commercial. (link)

I don't think the shoot outside the Apple store (and it was outside & inside -- winess the camera on a Technocrane) had anything to do with this commercial, which looks like it was all on sets. But FYI, Panavision NY supplies a lot more than camera gear. They have lighting, grip and that Technocrane too. I bet most of the gear pictured in those stills came from their shop.

Knowing that there's the usual Apple NDA involved here I will say with some authority that it was the Arri D21. Not sure though if it was a data capture or tape. Shot in Los Angeles, CA.
