I would like to share my Low/No Budget idea for a Floor Stand for an LCD Monitor.:construction:

I went to my Local Home Hardware store and bought a;

Work Light (I removed the lights) - $33.00
9 Inch Iron Bar, found in the pipe section (They cut to size 4 Free) - .89
1 Big Washer - .39
Metal Plate, found in the electrical section - $2.12

I then made measurements;
Drilled a few holes to match the holes on the back of the LCD.
Made markings on the iron bar where I wanted the washer and the metal plate to be positioned.

Then I took all the pieces to a friend of mine who knows how to weld. He Buffed it and welded it the way I asked him to and in less than an hour I had myself an LCD Floor Stand. It is fairly stable at around 5 feet high.

I was pretty happy about it so I thought I'd share this idea with other Low/No budget filmmakers out there. Here are some pictures of it.

If you don't wish to do it yourself, Abel sells a great universal stand system for any monitor with a VESA mount (four holes 100mm/4" apart). It is a tabletop stand with an articulating mount point that can pan, tilt and even rotate if you wish to place the same on it's side. We also make a custom adapter piece so that the mount can be slipped off the tabletop stand and placed on a lightstand (either baby spud or Junior socket), all while retaining all the above mentioned adjustment capabilities.

I have these on my monitors...

Evin,

That's the Modern Studio VESA mount, which I also use. You may also order it direct from modernstudio.com. (They don't have an e-tailer solution so you actually have to call and talk to someone.)
