I am in line to get the new Angenieux "Digital" lens they announced at NAB for the RED (Rouge, I think is the name). I am just wondering if the protrusion in the back that keeps it from working on a film camera will be also an issue with the with the Epic? I plan to trade my RED ONE for the Epic when the Epic is available, and i don't want a nasty surprise then.

they say october, but i need to make a decision asap

Unless Epic suddenly got a rotating mirror shutter I can't imagine how it would be a problem. Thats what it would run into on a film camera.

ok, that makes sense.

Hi nick

yes it makes sense....

But:

If Red (a company full of innovation) decided to place a rotating, behind the lens, ND system we could be in trouble.. (Even a clear and ND1.2 drop up down would be great)

If they decided to bring the OLPF further forward that could be tricky.. There may be reasons to do so???

There are other reasons why they could decide to move things around and still fall within PL 'spec' and cause problems with the 'Rouge'..

any clues would be great?

regards

Michael

anybody from RED listening (reading)? we could use your input here. we can guess and guess until the cows come home, but without an official word from you guys it is only guessing.
